Pastor/Elder Board of Directors/Member of Leadership Discernment Team

Carl Russell is the co-pastor of Heaven’s Door Ministry along with Rose Coleman. He is a US veteran, having served in both the USMC and the Air Force. He then went to Southwestern Baptist theological seminary for his Master of Divinity and pastored for over 40 years. During that time, he earned his Doctor of Ministry and a Master of Arts in professional counseling and has been practicing Christian therapy for over 10 years. Also, throughout his ministry, he has been involved in disaster relief nationwide and served as a chaplain and consultant with emergency services in stress and emotional trauma. Throughout his ministry, he has focused on ministering to the hurting in the community. In every community in which he ministered, he served in various organizations to find ways to meet the physical, medical, mental, and spiritual resources of those that are often underserved. He is also the founder of Life Hope Consulting Services which serves organizations, more specifically, those involved in responding to disasters and emergencies by teaching various courses on emotional trauma. He is a member of the American Academy of experts of traumatic stress and the New Mexico Crisis Support Team which provides services to emergency services across the state.

As a Minister of the Gospel, CPSW Trainer/Community Support Worker, God has given me the privilege of helping others in the same ways that help once came to me. Having endured sexual abuse and poverty as a child, I spent 20 years of my adult life trapped in drug addiction and the destructive lifestyle that accompanied it. That path led to a broken family, homelessness, and severe drug-induced mental illness that seemed unending. Between suicide attempts and the torment of hearing voices, I feared for my life. In desperation, I turned fully to God, opening my Bible and clinging to every word He spoke. That was the beginning of my healing journey. Step by step, in complete surrender, God led me into freedom and into the person He created me to be. By His Word, mercy, and grace, He has completely restored me, and each day I am grateful for all He has done. I now see how He used every part of my story to bring me to this place. As Romans 8:28 declares: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose.”

A new walk in spiritual freedom, I began volunteering in a soup kitchen in 2017, where I preached and served alongside my husband at God’s Warehouse. After foundingHeaven’s Door Ministry together, my husband went home to be with the Lord in January 2022, and the ministry continued. 

Along my journey, I was co-host for Warring Eagles, a Bible talk-show that aired weekly on KAZQ 32.1 TV for about a year and a half. I am certified as a Mental Health Technician and Peer Support/CSW, equipping me to help others develop life skills, find resources and recovery. I have served as Program Supervisor of a women’s recovery home and now work alongside therapists providing CCSS (Comprehensive Community Support Services).

My life today is filled with laughter and joy in everything God has called me to do—including spending cherished time with my family and grandchild. As a lifelong student of the Bible, I know that my life in Christ is greater than anything this world can offer and in Him, life is eternalfreedom. Thank You, Lord, for all You have done! Oh, what a Good God You are!
